"There Stood an Angel"

I chanced to see an angel
Misplaced by heaven
Lost to God
There stood an angel~
With a caring heart
Naked and vulnerable to the world
There stood an angel~
Seduced by lies and false promises
By those she had trusted
There stood an angel~
Used by men of glitter and glamour
Motivated by selfish desires
No longer virginal, this angel stood
Her purity misused by those she loved
No longer holding worldly treasures
Her precious possessions lost because of her love
She was left with no self-esteem
Scoffed at by selfish lovers who betrayed her love
There stood an Angel~
